Tristrem and Yvonne Carlyon - yoga teachers

Tristrem: Tristrem
has been inspired by the spiritual traditions of India for forty years. His
main focus is the non-duality (advaita vedanta) of Sri Ramana Maharshi and, more recently, Ekhart Tolle. He studied transpersonal psychology with Ian Gordon
Brown, Barbara Somers and Phyllis Krystal, and is a fan of Carl Jung
and Ken Wilber. For the past decade Tristrem has been studying and practicing
various styles of yoga intensely. In 2010 he completed his yoga teacher
training with Simon Low's Yoga Academy and is a British Wheel of Yoga
accredited teacher and Yoga Alliance registered 200 hour teacher. Tristrem
teaches yoga adapted to the individual in the style of T. Krishnamacharya. In
his teaching he draws on various styles of bodywork (Thomas Hanna, Moshe
Feldenkreis, Qigong), classical yoga asanas, breath work (pranayama),
visualisation work (yoga nidra), and meditation. His teaching style is clear,
accessible and nurturing.
Yvonne: Yvonne is a photographer and artist who
started teaching yoga in 2000. She offers a gentle flowing Hatha yoga, which
can be described as classical-eclectic. The emphasis is movement coordinated
with the breath. Her inspiration has been many-fold: Pauline Hall, yoga teacher
and mentor inspired her to teach; years of practicing Iyengar yoga gave a deep
insight into the mechanics of asana; Jenny Beacon, initiator of Yoga of the
Heart, brought many different paths together; Kundalini yoga spiced up the mix,
and finally, Simona Hernandez -
Anusara and Vinyasa flow combining modern understanding of the body with
ancient yoga principles. Yvonne's intention from her thirty or so years of
practice and from her work as a health kinesiologist is to bring harmony
between mind and body and vitality to the energy system which will in time
allow physical and mental healing to take place.
